Four-star 2025 TE Baron Naone opens up his recruitment

Baron Naone, a promising tight end hailing from West Linn, Oregon, has announced that he is decommitting from Oregon State. Initially committed when Jonathan Smith was still the head coach, Naone made the decision to open up his recruitment due to the departures of Smith and tight ends coach Brian Wozniak, who followed Smith to Michigan State.

In a statement, Naone thanked Oregon State for the opportunity to play at the next level, but expressed that it was best for him to decommit at this time. He also mentioned that the decision may have been premature, and that he wants to get to know the newer staff before making his final decision.

Naone’s decommitment comes as a blow to Oregon State, as he was the highest-rated in-state commit under Smith and his departure marks a significant loss for the program. However, Naone’s recruitment is still open, and he has received offers from schools such as Washington State and Tennessee.

Despite the decommitment, Naone remains a highly sought-after prospect, with offers from several other schools including Arizona, Arizona State, California, Nevada, San Diego State, and Washington. He is currently ranked as the No. 12 tight end in the country and the No. 1 recruit in Oregon for 2025.

Naone’s decision to decommit has sparked interest and speculation among college football fans, as his talent and potential make him a valuable addition to any program. With offers from various schools and his participation in the 2025 Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii, Naone’s future in college football is sure to attract attention in the coming months.
