Recruitment board constituted to make public sector institutions more efficient: Kerala CM

The Kerala Public Enterprises Selection and Recruitment Board was established by the State government to enhance the efficiency of public sector institutions, according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Inaugurating the board and its headquarters building at Vellayambalam, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for a transparent selection process to appoint skilled candidates.

The board will initially oversee recruitments for public sector units under the Industries department, with the potential for other departments to utilize its services for non-Public Service Commission (PSC) posts. State government aims to professionalize public sector units and increase revenue and profitability.

Former Chief Secretary V.P. Joy will head the recruitment board, alongside other industry experts including Railway Recruitment Board Chairman V. Rajeevan, former Chief Engineer of the Kerala State Electricity Board Radhakrishnan, and others. The formation of this board signals the government’s commitment to developing a more skilled and efficient public sector workforce.

Alongside this, citing the historic background, the establishment of the Kerala Public Enterprises Selection and Recruitment Board marks a significant step in the State government’s efforts to modernize and professionalize public sector institutions, creating a more efficient and skilled workforce to drive economic growth and development in Kerala. This development underlines the government’s commitment to transparency and merit-based selection processes in public sector appointments.
