The Research Associate-I will work on molecular analysis of metabolic pathways in rice and chickpea to improve nutritional value. The Junior Research Fellow will focus on deciphering the role of the transsulfuration pathway in innate immune response. Both positions have specific qualifications and responsibilities. The National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), located in Punjab, India, is set to conduct a Walk-In-Interview for temporary positions of Junior Research Fellow and Research Associate-I. NABI is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and is dedicated to catalyzing the transformation of the Agri-food sector in India. The Institute aims to be a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security.
The Research Associate-I position requires a Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences or Plant Biotechnology with at least one peer-reviewed international publication in a Science Citation indexed (SCl) journal. Additionally, prior experience in molecular cloning, qRT-PCR, protein expression, and Western blotting is a must. The Junior Research Fellow position requires a postgraduate degree in basic Science OR a graduate/post-graduate degree in a professional course and having own fellowship for 5 years from different funding agencies such as UGC, CSIR, DST, DBT, etc.
The research activities for the positions include tasks such as genome editing in crop plants, protein-protein interaction, Co-IP, ChIP, plant tissue culture, transcriptome profiling of immune cells, and brain-targeted drug delivery techniques, among others.
